Using our new Camera!

I have to start todays post with this picture! Aren't my boys ADORABLE?!! I'm pretty sure I'm the luckiest gal in the whole world. Its been so fun having this new camera because we were just taking crappy pictures on our phones. So I hope you don't mind me showing off my cute baby with all the fun pics we've taken over the last couple days. Jaxson enjoys a little social grooming sometimes.

This is Jaxsons "make-do" bed for the summer.
Jaxson actually is watching baby einstein (his favorite) in this photo, take particular attention to his feet...he always sits back and relaxes while watching anything. It's the coolest thing I've seen since sliced bread. Speaking of eating...

Jaxson is pretty messy when it comes to eating as you can tell. Here's some cute pics in his jumper, he screams with joy while jumping his heart out in this. It's AWESOME!

Here is Jaxson at bathtime!! Another one of his favorite times of the day. What a cutie huh?! We are all having a blast here in NY, and Nate is doing so fantastic in his 60 Hr a week demanding job! Did I mention how much we love our new camera??!!

sweet nothings

I don't have any fancy pictures or anything today, I just wanted to ramble on about how cute our son Jaxson is and how fun it is to be here in New York. Jaxson can now stay on his hands and knees, well only for as long as he doesn't want anything, as soon as he sees something he wants he will reach his hand out to get it and fall on his tummy. It's cute, but I guess he gets scared easy and cries a lot when it happens. He is so funny, he finally has gotten used to his new bed. He is grumpier than can be before he gets there for the night, but once he gets in his bed he comes alive! He does this funny thing where he moves his head back and forth, right and left, as fast as he can. It's so cute, and he does this indescribably cute face, with his eyes half shut and the cutest grin, then he goes to suck his thumb and just kinda flirts with momma. I love it. Right before he goes to bed has become my favorite time of the day. It's so fun to lay on the bed with him and just play. He gets so much energy, but is tired of course, and goes down just fine after I leave. The blessings of being a mother have just blossomed lately. Jaxson makes this funny noise, like he is a motorcycle or something, I can't really describe it in words. But when he does that everyone always looks at him because they think its so funny. His new friend Max thinks its really funny too. Max is only a month older than Jaxson and just laughs when Jaxson makes that noise. I can tell Jaxson is going to want to be the center of attention and in the spotlight all the time. He is eating ginormous amounts now. (sorry that is a word I picked up from my co-worker Jaelynne who is so fun by the way). He is our chunky monkey. He is such a joy to have around out house though, man he's fun.
Seriously, I read just the other day about love, and that its not real love if you expect anything back from the other person...and obviously we think of our spouse or boyfriend when we say that, but I know why the love of a Mother is so genuine and true. It's because we don't expect anything back from our children, we love them for who they are. It takes work, and the harder mothers work and do things for their children, the more they truly love them, that's just a blessing that comes. And I honestly believe that finding real love through family are the greatest blessings on earth.
Nate's job is going fantastic. He is selling great, and has started to figure the whole thing out. He of course goes to different areas often, and this job totally depends on where they are for the area. But for the most part I think it will be a success this summer and we will be able to pay off our bills. I love my job, it's great I can have Jaxson with me. And it's not too demanding. I am going into the city tomorrow again to meet up with Amy. Hopefully all goes well and we don't get lost! All the married couples that didn't bring cars out rented a car, and we put it under Jaelynnes and my name because we are over 25, and I drove to walmart the other day and got kinda lost, and had to pay several tolls because there aren't many exits. It's quite frustrating driving here. Also, one guy got sick out while they were knocking doors and they made me come pick him up, and thats driving all the way from NJ to Queens, very far away, and to top that off, it was right during rush hour. Talk about the worst drive ever, especially since Jaxson cried the last hour. It took us 4 hours all together. Won't ever do that again, but at least I can say that I experienced the commute during Rush hour in NYC! AHH. Life is fabulous for us right now though, we truly are being blessed.

Welcome to the big apple...or close to

We're in Fort Lee NJ now, just a hop skip and a bus ride away from NYC. It's such a blast! Well for me anyway. Nate's hard at work 10 hours a day, I can't imagine that he's having much fun other than meeting new people. I finally got to go into the city this week. Jaxson and I went with a friend and got to see Amy my Twin sister while she was in port for a day off the Carnival Cruise ship. It was so fun to see Amy, since it's been a few months already that we've been away from each other. It probably will be more than that if and when she moves to London. Her boyfriend James will be coming from London in a few weeks to go on the cruise she works on and will stay with us for a couple days to tour the city. Amy is a dancer on the cruise and lives on the ship for the duration of her contract. I know lots of people ask me where she lives while she is working, and they are usually surprised to hear that she lives there. It definitely would be a difficult life, but she loves it, this is her 2nd cruise. We found out that babies cost just as much as adults so I probably won't be going on this one.

More about New York, this is probably a bad picture to put on my family friendly blog, but it was just so random that this almost naked cowboy was on the streets. Good thing Jaxson was asleep and didn't get a shot of it. (and don't worry, I wasn't the one that took the picture). I thought I was only going to see bums on the street and normal people trying to play for money...little did I know that it is like Vegas and LA where there are crazies running around.

I think Times Square was fun just because it was so busy busy and so many movies that we watch have New York in them, specifically Times Square. It reminded me exactly of Tokyo where I served my mission, except for the fact that I can read and understand everything in New York. And of course Tokyo is ten times more clean and safe than New York. We rode the subways and it's pretty trashy to be honest. But I can't complain, at least it was only $2 to get home instead of what a taxi would have cost me. Most everything there is not baby friendly though, nothing really has room for strollers and you have to be very quick with everything.

We didn't end up doing much because we figured Nate would want to come see stuff on sunday, his only day off. We mostly walked around and looked at things and took it all in. What a breathtaking experience. We ate lunch in Central Park and watched some crazy breakdancing gymnasts perform. Jaxson was such a trooper, he handled all the travelling well I think. After we got back...that's when he started getting really fussy. Poor kid, trying to get used to his new home and all the new things, plus he probably got jet lag really bad....AND he is teething like crazy. Two of his teeth are coming in, one has broken the surface all the way and the other is halfway. But I can only imagine how uncomfortable that was, of course I can't remember anything before I was one years old. (I can't remember much from just last week to tell you the truth). So good thing he'll forget the pain soon. He is getting so big, all he does is eat, and now that he has experienced things like Licorice and other fingerfoods, (don't worry, it doesn't all contain that much sugar), he just wants to eat and eat. He doesn't like carrots anymore now that he has more options. But we're in luck because he still likes green beans. I wish I had pictures, but we have just been video-ing lately. I'll be sure to get some soon. The flight for Jaxson was kinda rough, but considering how fussy he normally is, I think he was really good. We did well for not having much space. What a fun kid we have, and a fun adventure we have ahead. Nate needs your prayers to be successful in this job and to get through the summer!
