Jaxson's Adventures

Our little Jaxson is a terrorist when it comes to getting into things and getting into situations he can't get out of. I left for like 5 minutes into another room and he was in all the DVD cases and mail, and all the Wii stuff. Funny kid...

Jaxson is rolling and scooting a little now, really trying to get around and get what he wants. It's a fun stage, but it can also be a bit hard...for both me and Jaxson. He got stuck under chair the other day, and I had to take a picture. Some of you may think that this is cruel to not only leave him crying, but to take a picture of his pain as well...Well admit it. It's a little funny.

Rainy Day

These are gorgeous pictures, but it was a little scary, there was a big rain storm here in NJ on sunday and the park we went to was at the bottom of a cliff, so the rain was just rushing down the sides where the roads were, it was crazy because we thought we were going to be swept off the narrow roads in some places. But it ended up being a beautiful day regardless, and no one got hurt.

Night at the Museum

Yup we went to the museum where the movie was filmed "A Night at the Museum". It definitely doesn't look exactly like it, they changed some things around, but it was still a blast. I think it made it more interesting because of the movie to tell you the truth...Although it was fascinating in and of itself. Here's some pics, tell me if you recognize any of it from the movie.

Happy (Really Really Late) Father's Day

Here are my studs. I know it's really late, but I just had to publicly express my love and appreciation for my hubby for being such a wonderful Father. Every time he is with Jaxson, I learn how to be a better parent from the way He deals with him. What a great example he is. Thanks Nate!

I had to throw in this blooper picture, they both look so funny from getting ready to blink probably...looks kinda like they are both trying to do the same face.
I also had to give a talk on fathers day in sacrament meeting. It was an interesting topic "how to love imperfect fathers". I tell ya, it threw me for a look. I was lucky enough to have my mom there, and I thought so much of my dad that it felt like he was there. I miss him and love him so much. I'm so blessed to have had a father who is a great influence, and has been there my whole life. I take him for grantid so much, and I can't wait to see him back in Utah. Love you dad, and Nate!

Broadway Baby!

I've been so fortunate this week to go see some broadway shows! First with my mom I got to see Lion King. We took Jaxson, hoping he would be good...but of course, he's fussy when we don't want him to be. Luckily there was a TV out in the hall that I could still watch it. Recommendation...don't ever take babies to broadway, even if it's kid friendly. They still cost $40 or more to sit on your lap. And of course, it would take a miracle to keep them quiet the whole show. (I already knew all this would happen, but it was worth a try I thought). Lion King had fantastic costumes and sets. It was worth it just to see those. It was just like the movie though, with a few exceptions. That was one disappointment, I wanted to see and hear more...not just feel like I was watching the movie. But overall, the experience was worth the money. The next play I saw I got a babysitter, and honestly...all the other kids in the show should have had babysitters too, because it was so noisy. We got tickets in the balcony this time and it was mostly children from elementary schools or middle schools. The boys right behind us were so noisy and rude that we just ended up getting up and moving because we couldn't stand it. I went with my friend Shelbee, and what a classic play we saw! Phantom of the Opera. I was amazed at the talented singers. It was phenomenal, definitely worth seeing. There are many new Broadway plays that are coming out that are pretty random plays, based on other things, like Legally Blonde, and shrek is coming out soon. There is one called 'In the Heights' based on street life in Harlem. I just wish they would go back to writing classics similar to Phantom and LesMiserables, and like my favorite of all time....Aida. Maybe I should write one...
Anyway, great week, it was a blast to have my mom and friend shelbee.

Yankee Stadium!

No we didn't see the play...we went to the actual baseball game! What a great experience...except the fact that it was the most unpleasant day of my life! I only sweated this much when I played a full basketball game in highschool, or a volleyball game, or running 13 miles. It was ridiculous...we still managed to get a couple photos...we left after the 3rd inning because we couldn't take the heat anymore...Jaxson couldn't take the sun anymore. We certainly learned not to come during the day, where there is no shade, and where there is a heat wave causing power outages throughout the city. Talk about a crazy day.

Sunday Outing

This is certainly not the most flattering picture of the both of us is it...

Jaxson is sideways! I'll have to fix that next time, but he enjoyed the hot weather for about a minute...and we ended up taking a picture that one minute so he's partially smiling...lucky us.

sailing on the hudson...fun huh

Nate videoing me taking pics of Ellis island immigration museum. Isn't he silly!

There she is!

Daddy & Jaxson going on a ferry ride! Aren't they studs!
Grandma Bair was with us the whole time but didn't ever want her picture taken! She was so fun to have on this trip! The Ellis island museum was fascinating, there sure is a lot of history in NY!

Day at the Pool!

Since there is a monster heat wave coming through NY right, we are extra HOT! we decided to take advantage of the pool before Nate had to go to work in this blazing weather.

before and after??

So get this, we took pictures before we came out to New York, and I'd like to say that the two pics were the same people, just several years later, but nope...it's just that it seems to work out in the Holt family to have one boy and 4 girls around the same time! It's the funniest thing ever

The Many Sounds of Jaxson

Jaxson is at the stage of making many noises, Nate was so excited that he is making the "Dadada" noises because he thinks Jaxson actually is calling him...well whatever makes him feel good I guess. We'll see what his actual first words are! We have the cutest kid ever!
